Τοπικές προθέσεις (Prepositions of Place)

[Εισαγωγή στις προθέσεις, Junior A]

Οι τοπικές προθέσεις πειργράφουν την θέση κάποιου ανθρώπου ή αντικειμένου σε σχέση με έναν άλλο άνθρωπο ή αντικείμενο.

Κοιτάξτε την παρακάτω εικόνα:

 

on = επάνω.

above = πάνω από.

over = από πάνω (πιο κοντά από το above).

in front of = μπροστά από.
beside = δίπλα.
below = από κάτω ( ≠ above).
under = κάτω από ( ≠ over).
behind = πίσω από ( ≠ in front of).


Παραδείγματα:

There is a cup on the table.
The helicopter hovered above the house.
The police placed a sheet over the body.
He stood in front of the door and rang the bell.
Ram sat beside Tara.
A small stream runs below that bridge.
He put the key under the doormat.
He put his hands behind his back.
