of Place)
Οι τοπικές προθέσεις
αναφέρονται σε εκείνες που χρησιμοποιούνται για να διευκρινήσουν το που βρίσκεται
κάποιος ή κάποιο αντικείμενο.
Υπάρχουν τρεις τοπικές
προθέσεις:
At
Η «At» χρησιμοποιείται για ένα σημείο:
At the end of the lane.
At the door/entrance/exit.
At the corner.
At the desk.
Σημείωση: Υπάρχουν πολλές
καθιερωμένες εκφράσεις που εξαιρούνται από αυτόν τον κανόνα:
At home.
At work.
At school/college/university.
At the side.
In
Η «In» χρησιμοποιείται για περιορισμένους ή περίκλειστους
χώρους:
In Mumbai/India.
In the room.
In the store.
In my pocket/bag.
In the building/tower.
Σημείωση: Υπάρχουν κάποιες
καθιερωμένες εκφράσεις που αποτελούν την εξαίρεση σε αυτόν τον κανόνα:
In the book/magazine/newspaper.
In the sky.
On
Η «On» χρησιμοποιείται για επιφάνειες:
On the table.
On the rug.
On the floor.
On the cover.
On the page.
Σημείωση: Υπάρχουν πολλές
τυποποιημένες εκφράσεις οι οποίες αποτελούν εξαίρεση στον κανόνα:
On the bus/train/plane/ship.
On the radio/television.
On the left/right.
On the way.
